Once upon a time a Dutch girl in Ethiopia wanted to send her passport to Pretoria. This sound easy but it was very difficult for her. The local people told her to go to many places to arrange it, but her passport was still hours away from her.
So this girl thought she was smart, after verifying and getting conformations of many local friends, she asked a dear colleague to bring the passport from far away to her hometown. After 3 days of waiting she got the news her passport was on the way, but than it turned out the colleague didn't return for the next days. The girl was really disappointed, but couldn't do anything about it, cause she already learned that Africa is not as Europe or the States.
So on monday she was happily reunited with her passport and went to the postoffice to arrange it. All the tension had given her a big headache, but she was persistent cause it had to be send.
At the postoffice there were many people shouting and waiting and discussing all kind of things and finely it was her turn: she explained what she had to send and....... All of a sudden the girl was very sad and angry again: it was not possible to send the packet!!!!!!
Totally disappointed she went home and didn't know how to handle for a short moment.
She decided she would take the first part of the journey together with her passport to Addis the next day, but oh no more dangers and disappointments were facing this poor lady: the next day was a national holiday, so everything would be closed.
But the girl was strong and made a new plan: visiting her friends on the way to the big big capital of Ethiopia. In two days she would be able to arrange it and everything would turn out well.
So the next day she and her passport went on a trip. First to Butajira and they visited a nice Dutch family and had a beer and a good laugh. The next day she went on her way very early in the morning and after another 4,5 hours traveling she arrived at a small office and asked for help.
This nice helping man called Kassa simply called DHL and the DHL postman showed up within an hour and she said good by but not farewell to her passport and all the forms she had been filling in the last months.
Now she only has to wait for confirmation that it has arrived safe. After so many hour traveling the Dutch girl had some rest and would travel the next day happy and relaxed home.
And they lived happily ever after....(if the passport can find the way back home to Addis to the nice mister Kassa)
